Supervision – shaping complex working relationships

Supervision can be translated as “looking over” and enables professional actions, procedures, and processes to be reflected upon and optimized from a meta-perspective, thereby contributing to professionalization and quality assurance and also inviting new insights and findings.

Our supervision offer is a multi-layered and complex opportunity to examine one’s own actions and oneself, and is aimed at companies and organizations whose primary task is working with and on people, and who therefore have to continually redefine their professional position in the tension between closeness and distance to their clients. We offer supervision particularly in the social and educational sectors, for clinics and healthcare professions, but also for professional groups and teams from the private sector. Supervision is a method for professional self-reflection by departments, groups, and teams and aims in particular to improve the quality of work and humanize working relationships in organizations and companies.
Depending on the setting and concerns, different aspects come to the forefront, such as:

Clarification of client relationships
Communication and interaction in teams
Reflection on team dynamics
  • Clarification and resolution of conflicts
  • Role clarification
  • Special challenges in day-to-day work
  • Coping with structural and personnel changes
  • Professionalization
  • Mental hygiene and resource allocation
Supervision is therefore particularly suitable when the success and satisfaction of employees depend significantly on functioning cooperative relationships and communicative competence. Through working in groups/teams, supervision is integrated into the organizational structure and makes an important contribution to organizational and quality development.

Supervision – procedure

Our supervision is initially scheduled for 3 online Zoom sessions, each lasting 2 hours. Ideally, the sessions take place at intervals of 4–6 weeks, with 6 to a maximum of 12 participants. We will be happy to discuss further details and the content with you in an introductory Zoom meeting.

“The solution is not to find a way out. The solution is in relating to the movement inside. Once that becomes a conscious movement, it will change on its own.” – Thomas Hübl

About Heidi Wohlhüter

Heidi is a psychotherapist (DGVT) and supervisor (DGVT), as well as a licensed child and adolescent psychotherapist. Before her employment at Sharing the Presence, she worked for more than 25 years in a psychiatric day clinic (University Hospital of RWTH Aachen) for adults in individual therapy and with groups. She also works as a therapist in her own practice since 15 years and offers supervision for therapeutic colleagues, psychologists and treatment teams. In addition, Heidi leads self-awareness courses as part of the training of psychotherapists at the DGVT (German Society for Behavior Therapy). As a research assistant in the clinical area of the RWTH, she has been involved in book publications and research projects and has also been repeatedly requested as a speaker in clinical and complementary settings and has given workshops on mindfulness, communication, integration, healing and team development.

In her work with people, it is particularly important to her to focus on the aspect of “relationship” and to create a space in which unconscious aspects can emerge and people can see themselves more compassionately and deeply. Heidi has been a student of Thomas Hübl since 2007 and is part of the inner board team and Inner Science Training Group. She is also part of the “Mysticism and Healing” team, which has been researching the interplay of mystical principles and clinical and psychotherapeutic approaches for many years. She has been an assistant in Thomas’ programs and in the leadership of the Timeless Wisdom Training teams for several years. She first joined the Trauma Informed Coaching program with Thomas Hübl and Amy Fox as an assistant and for the last two years she has been part of the teams of the Collective Trauma Facilitator Training and offers supervision in the Pocket Project e.V.. Heidi lives in Aachen and leads the local practice group “Transparent Communication”.
